How Boss Level Engaged Came to Be

If you know me, you may be wondering why am I doing this and why now?

Throughout the past 18 years of owning my event business, other small business owners have asked me for help.  It’s common practice for new and potential venue owners to reach out to wedding planners for help on developing their idea of a venue.  Asking you to come see the place, give them ideas on what they need physically and what they need to do to start their business.  I also find that because wedding planners work with all types of event businesses, we know a lot about all the ins and outs of their businesses too.   Because of this, other event businesses tend to trust us and ask for our help too.  People who knew of me because we’ve worked together on an event or we met through networking, will just ask, hey, how do I do this?  I’m that kind of person that people tell stuff to and then ask for help on a pretty regular basis, probably because I enjoy it so much.

Sometimes I would charge for my help, but most of the time I wouldn’t.  I enjoyed it and it didn’t feel like work, so why charge?  I loved seeing my fellow business owners succeed!  However, it started taking up more and more of my time, so I decided the first ask was free, but from then on I had to charge. I came up with the Power Session idea.  Power Sessions were time business owners could pay me for to “pick my brain” so to speak.  I put it up on my website and it worked well.  However, it wasn’t enough for me.  I wanted to see them actually get things done.  I didn’t want to just be a sounding board.

2023 feels like the wedding and events industry is stabilizing a bit.  We’ve been in survival mode for SO LONG, with the pandemic, the insane amount of weddings in 2022 and the engagement gap, it’s like we haven’t had a minute to gain our footing again, until now.  Because of that, I feel like it’s the perfect time to launch Boss Level Engaged.  Small business owners can get to working ON their business and not just IN the business.  They can make plans again, implement new systems, processes and strategies.  They can even launch that new service or product!  Thus, why I am finally launching this business.  I have the time and feel like others do too.

With Boss Level Engaged, the intent is to partner with you and help you get things done.  I don’t want to be a coach, I’m not here to listen, give you advice and hope you take it.  That’s just not my gig. Don’t get me wrong, I will always give advice if you ask, I just prefer to follow up with action. I like getting my hands dirty and getting things accomplished, checked off the list and off the plate so to speak.  I’m a huge fan of delegation, but I know that can be hard for a lot of business owners.  My hope is that you can trust me as another boss, not just some random person, and learn from the experience to be able to see how delegation works. We can work through all those boss level tasks that have been sitting on your plate for who knows how long.  Then, maybe, we can even work on getting you an assistant in place to have someone you can regularly delegate to! (I know, one thing at a time.) And hey, maybe we can even do it before you get too busy again.

So if this sounds interesting to you, and you have some things you need to do but just haven’t yet, let’s talk about it.  Maybe I can help you through it.  Book a complimentary half hour session to talk through what’s on your plate, then we can see if Boss Level Engaged is for you.  I hope to chat with you soon!
